Birthworkers Meeting Details
Members & Visitors are welcome at all meetings - we love to see new faces! Birthworkers meetings are held every month from 7:00-9:00pm.
DETAILS: The first half hour of the meeting will be a business/organizational period. The last part of the meeting is a social time for everyone to connect, network and support each other.
Meetings are held at the CHOICE office in Worthington (5721 North High Street). Free parking is available at the bottom of the hill. Please contact the Facilitator, Sharon Gourlay, for more information. We look forward to seeing you there!
Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative Mission:
The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS) is a coalition of individuals and national organizations with concern for the care and wellbeing of mothers, babies, and families. Our mission is to promote a wellness model of maternity care that will improve birth outcomes and substantially reduce costs. This evidence-based mother-, baby-, and family-friendly model focuses on prevention and wellness as the alternatives to high-cost screening, diagnosis, and treatment programs.

- Make checks payable to BWCO
- Annual dues need to be paid by the first meeting of the year (1/25/10). You are welcome to join BWCO at any time during the year, but membership rates will not be prorated.

Birth Professionals
Membership in Birthworkers of Central Ohio (BWCO) is open to all birth professionals and members of the community who are willing to agree to the BWCO Mission and abide by the principles of the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative (CIMS).

Membership Benefits
- Networking: You will have opportunities to network with birth professionals in your community at BWCO meetings and at mother-friendly events BWCO sponsors.
- Referrals: Your name and contact information will appear on the referral page of our website.
- Monthly Meetings: Members are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings.
- Advertising: Your business cards will be displayed at all BWCO events.
- Voting: You will have the right to vote at BWCO board meetings.
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP: $20
This one year membership includes the benefits listed above for an individual.
